This afternoon we stopped by the Thakoon Addition sample sale to find tons of stock, but not very many one-of-a-kind pieces left. To our surprise, there were only a few shoppers left over from the morning rush. The spacious sale was well organized, with tags on each garment reflecting reduced prices up to 70% off.

The best deals were among the Thakoon Addition styles, although we didn't see anything priced under $110. The racks were packed with a slew of summer colors and prints, including drop-waist chiffon dresses for $185, full-length styles for $215, and shorter styles for $170.

There was a great selection of fall 2013 pieces, including a structured orange pant for $135 and its matching jacket for $240. The gray plaid wool coat with a fur collar for $345 was popular among shoppers with only two left on the rack, while the navy cape with the same fur collar for $330 filled an entire rack.

Among the separates, we found a graphic black and white structured tee with eyelet insets for $135, a jacquard sweatshirt for $170, and a tweed and leather jacket for $275. Printed button-down shirts were going for $110, with matching pants for $130.

We were surprised to see one rack of the Thakoon label for sale, but prices were high, with coats starting at $585 and dresses starting at $315 for cotton styles and going all the way up to $1,230 for an embroidered floral dress with leather straps. Watch out for damaged pieces, which were clearly marked on the hanger. The flaw itself was also tagged with a colored piece of tape. Most damages we saw included small fabric flaws or tiny stains—nothing too noticeable.

There won't be any new styles introduced to the sale, and there was no word on further markdowns. With one large communal fitting room, a coat check at the front, and helpful salespeople, this was one of our better sample sale shopping experiences. The sale runs through Friday—visit the Dealfeed at the link below for all the details.
