It's been just over a month since signage was spotted for Annick Goutal in the West Village, and now the French perfume brand is ready to debut its first stateside standalone store. Expect the doors to open sometime next week, according to WWD.
The 400-square-foot space was designed with a luxe, modern feel that's meant to attract younger customers to the 33-year-old brand. "It is French modernity, not the Versailles French," said Remi Clero, the president and CEO of its parent company, Pacific Creation. It features a prominent picture of the late perfumer, a backyard garden, and new packaging for the perfume bottles.
Annick Goutal will also be making a strong push in the department stores where it already sells, including Saks Fifth Avenue, Bergdorf Goodman, Henri Bendel, and Bloomingdale's, increasing distribution at all locations.
WWD mentioned that the brand will open a second store in the city next year, but they don't when or where. Tipsters, keep your eyes peeled.
