Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Signage is up at 98 North 6th Street in Williamsburg for Space Ninety 8: the five-floor indie concept shop from Urban Outfitters. A private press preview event for the store is scheduled for the 3rd of April, which leads us to believe that the official unveiling will immediately follow.
To recap, the store will feature a basement-level rotating pop-up shop, an eatery and a bar, a flower market, and an area on the ground floor that highlights local designers (such as Dusen Dusen and Cold Picnic). There will also be regular Urban Outfitters clothes among all that.
The concept isn't new or exclusive to New York: Space 15 Twenty in Los Angeles has been open for years.
