St. Mark's Bookshop, just north of its namesake street on Third Avenue, has finally found a relocation spot. Jeremiah's Vanishing New York reports that the independent bookseller is looking to move to East Third Street just west of Avenue A, into a NYCHA-owned building that previously housed a bike shop.
While they have a proposed lease from the city, the bookshop still needs money to make the move. Their main source of income for the move right now is their Indiegogo campaign, and a committee called Friends of St. Mark's Bookshop are trying to make it happen as well.
We'll keep you updated as more information comes in.
