Original Penguin has opened a new New York City flagship store on Broadway, near Bond Street. The 2,500-square-foot space reflects post-modern design, but keeps things whimsy with playful accents (inflatable penguin beach balls, anyone?) and a video projection wall.
Walnut wood surfaces and the new blue and white Penguin colorway give the store a crisp, clean feel that's a welcome escape from the city outside. The space invokes a Palm Springs vibe, which is great for welcoming warmer weather clothing options.
When you walk in, you're greeted with one wall highlighting the iconic "Earl" polo ($59—$69) the company is known for, and another dedicated to accessories, including belts ($39—$49), sunglasses ($125), and shoes ($89—$150).
Go in a little further, and you can find swimsuits in various lengths for $65—$69, slim and straight leg denim in classic hues for $98, non-boxy graphic tees for $35—$39, and short-sleeve and long-sleeve button-ups for $79—$89.
Towards the back, you'll find shorts ($69—89), watches ($125—$175) and suiting separates ($125—$225). The brand also has a loyalty program for which you can sign up in-store to earn points on purchases that redeem for reward certificates. Original Penguin is open Monday through Saturday from 10am to 9pm, and Sunday from 11am to 8pm.
