Trying to be cool like Dover Street Market perhaps? Saks Fifth Avenue is launching a men's designer sneaker section on their seventh floor, which includes kicks from Jimmy Choo, Fendi, Dior, the Adidas by Raf Simons collection, and more.
"For the last three seasons, the whole dress/designer sneaker business has skyrocketed," Saks' men's fashion director Eric Jennings told WWD of what has been dubbed SneAKS. Male customers are "willing to take risks and be more fashion forward."
While the department doesn't officially open until February 22, customers could see a preview during Super Bowl weekend. It's right next to the men's denim section, and Jennings says the store expects an increase in sales for both departments.
"SneAKS" will be in a total of 16 department stores across the country. Expect a big window display on Fifth Avenue to celebrate its arrival, said Jennings. "In New York, it will get the full red-carpet treatment."
