Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Marc Jacobs is opening not one but two new stores uptown this year: a large Marc by Marc Jacobs flagship on Fifth Avenue, and a new Marc Jacobs Collection outpost on Madison Avenue. W Magazine has the details on the flagship—basically, picture all of what's on Bleecker Street under one glamourous roof.

To be opened at the end of the year, it will gather together for the first time the various facets of the brand that currently exist as neighboring boutiques in New York's West Village: his Marc by Marc Jacobs store for women; his bookstore, Bookmarc; Marc by Marc for men; and Little Marc, for children. It will be a kind of fantastical MarcLand, where $2,300 shearling coats are sold alongside $2 condoms and $40 rain boots, each in some ephemeral way enhancing the value of the other.
