Dagny + Barstow has abruptly closed up shop on Bowery. Store owners Meredith Blank and Emily Titelman have yet to confirm the news on the store's website, Facebook, or Twitter, but Bowery Boogie writes that "word on the street is that it's a goner. Walking by the storefront at 264 Bowery would be confirmation enough—cardboard sits in the windows and the marquee was scraped of its identity. The business phone line is also a dead end." It makes sense, now, why the deals were so good at the January warehouse sale.
The closure seems to be related to issues with the building, and not a lack of success or good press. Refinery29 just included it on their winter shopping guide, Lucky put Meredith and Emily on its "It" list, and this website has it on both the Racked 38 and Indie 38.
