Helmut Lang Is Already Open on Prince Street

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Helmut Lang certainly isn't wasting any time. Just a few weeks ago, we reported that the brand was opening their fourth NYC store in the spring (there's one not far away on Mercer Street), and last night we noticed that they're already up and running. Their window displays show solid black and white pieces for spring.

The store is in good company—they're just down the street from the New Museum on Bowery, and the French duo of Sandro and Maje are basically next door. Across the street is the recently remodeled Vince store, and on nearby Elizabeth Street are Steven Alan and Clare V.
