Anyone who's just now getting around to shopping for snow boots is shit out of luck: The New York Times reports that New York City's inventory has ironically run dry. Retailers like Macy's only have a limited selection of sizes remaining, and Eastern Mountain Sports—the one place you're almost guaranteed to find them—is practically out.
Despite a lack of provisions, a manager at the Upper West Side EMS explains that customers are still pretty picky about what's left. "New Yorkers are still very particular about color. They'll take it in any color you have as long as it's black."
