Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

This weekend marked the debut of Bhoomki Home, a home goods boutique at 237 Fifth Avenue in Park Slope that's a few blocks down from its sister clothing store. And besides sharing a name, the two stores share a mission: every brand that you find here focuses on social responsibility and environmentally-friendly practices in manufacturing, and owner Swati Argade puts an emphasis on stocking things that are made in New York or made in the USA whenever possible.

For the home goods store, that means you'll find brands like John Robshaw, Canvas, Mighty 20 Coyuchi, and MUNY on the floor. The website has yet to be updated with the newest offerings, so you'll have to stop in to see what's in store.
