We checked back on the Tory Burch sample sale at 261 West 36th Street today, where the racks don't look any less full than opening day. And speaking of full, Clothingline was packed with people during lunchtime, who must've gotten word that the sale host slashed prices across all product categories this morning.
For apparel, everything is now $20—$75 less than it was when the sale started—so sleeveless and short-sleeved tops are $65, sweaters and sequined cardigans are $75, bottoms are $65, dresses are $105, blazers and jackets are $150, and heavier coats are $175.
The clothing options seemed to be about the same as when the sale began—lots of conservative dresses and clean-cut outerwear, with plenty of seasonal styles and a nearly overwhelming amount of plum and burgundy. Size small and 2/4 have the most merchandise, but that doesn't mean there's a lack of selection for 6s and above.
Accessory prices have dropped too—those bags hanging on the wall near the cash registers are labeled with their new prices. Check the gallery above for an idea of what you'll spend there.
And finally, shoes have also seen price cuts: Ballet flats are $109 (from $150), as are wedges, booties are $165, and boots are $200 (from $250). Certain styles are out of sizes, which are noted on a piece of paper next to each shoe in the glass display case. You'll still have to take a number and wait your turn to get into the shoe area, and when we were there, that space seemed quite empty while a small crowd waited to get in.
And speaking of crowds, there were plenty of people milling about for deals today. Though it wasn't uncomfortably cramped for people browsing the racks, the line to check out nearly reached the back of the showroom. Be sure to leave ample time for waiting in line, both inside and outside—when we left, about 25 people were waiting in the cold to be in.
The sale is open until 7pm tonight, and tomorrow's hours are 10am to 4pm. Staff confirmed that they'll be restocking overnight. For more details about the sale, check out the Dealfeed below.
