If you are currently sitting at Café Gitane, artfully arranging your breakfast so that your avocado toast, latte foam art, and sunglasses all get prime real estate in that Instagram square…stop it right now! International food and restaurant consultants, Baum + Whiteman have sent out their 2015 food trend report and the $7.50 bread slices (along with kale, sriracha, bacon, and vodka) are dunzo. Even juice seems to be on its way out, with a massive uptick in juice bars pointing to imminent all-juiced-everything burnout.
Luckily, the foods that are poised to knock 2015's Instagram heavy hitters off their throne have already taken root in NYC. According to Baum + Whiteman, matcha (see Williamsburg's MatchaBar) and savory ice cream (hello, Oddfellows' "Chorizo Caramel Swirl") will be next year's recipients of copious "blessed" and "yum" hashtags.
