If There's a Louboutin Sample Sale Going On, It's Well Concealed

We've been hearing conflicting reports about whether the notoriously private Christian Louboutin sample sale is indeed running this week, and snooping around 306 West 38th Street didn't do much to dig up an answer. An employee in the building was adamant that there's no sale going on, and also mentioned that "it's not open to the public." But if there isn't a sale, why would that need to be mentioned?

We also checked out last year's sale location at 311 West 38th Street, and no signs of a sale were apparent—suited-up security was absent, as were well-heeled invitees with cellphones ready to show proof. After staking out the premises, no one was seen coming out of either building with shopping bags or red soles, and anyone asking for the Louboutin sale was swiftly turned away.
