While one may be better known for its colorful pastries and the other for serving bacon-wrapped matzoh balls inside an Urban Outfitters, the Ladurée in Soho and The Gorbals in Williamsburg want to be known for their fashionable Thanksgiving feasts right now. Consider this your back-up plan if you end up getting snowed in tonight.
While we'd be totally fine with feasting on artfully-arranged macarons that look like turkey, stuffing, and green beans, Ladurée's $75 prix-fixe menu that's available from 12pm to 7pm tomorrow instead contains items like pumpkin soup with truffle purée, turkey with honey, and duck foie gras served with chesnut macarons (phew, at least they made it into one dish).
And while The Gorbals will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Chef Ilan will be serving up Gorbalized holiday leftovers the following day, along with spiked cider. No word on whether that'll have special Black Friday pricing like store underneath it.
