The world has changed since Dash Soho opened four years ago, nearly to the day: Kim Kardashian has married not one, but two men whose names also start with K, while Bruce Jenner has succeeded in winning the title of best family hair. And that's about it, really.
Until now: Commercial Observer reports that the building at 119 Spring Street is on the market with an annual rent of $1.4 million, meaning the future of Dash Soho is... unklear.
"We are very aware of the value of rents on Spring Street," one of the brokers told the publication. "We priced the space accordingly, in line with market rents. Dash has to make the decision to renew at market rents or make way for a tenant who will pay it."
Because a New York City without a Dash is simply not a city we'd care to live in, there is a possibility that the store is simply moving to a nearby location: This summer, the family purchased a building at Spring and Lafayette Streets—including a bi-level retail space on the ground floors (that was later hit with two violations). Lets just hope that if a Dash does open there, at least one actual Kardasho-Jenner will show up.
