In case you missed the good $20 and $50 samples at Rebecca Minkoff, fear not: Lauren Merkin has you covered with bargain bags, also starting at $20. In the sale's sample section, you'll mostly find clutches and small evening styles, though there are some larger totes in the $60-$70 range. A side note: the atmosphere is delightfully serene (especially for high sample sale season). When we stopped by, there was only one other customer poking around.
Aside from the bargain bins ($20-$70) and press samples ($65-$175), this sale is organized by style, with each bag design occupying its own real estate on the display tables. We would actually recommend beginning with the press samples, as these seemed to be the most luxurious—we saw lots of calf hair and printed options. In particular, we liked the Mini Marlow in black for $175.
Other styles include the Iris for $80, the Reese for $175-$250, the Simone and the Sydney for $150, and the Cece for $125. The only style currently on Merkin's website that we distinctly recall not seeing is the Peyton, though there may not have been any Scarlets either. Either way, almost every style on offer at the sale is available for full retail price online as we speak.
Outside of the bags and clutches, there was also a table of small leather goods, tucked away by the register. Here, you'll find wallets for $25-$75, card holders for $10, and iPad cases for $20. This section seems like a good place to scoop up some stocking stuffers. The sale runs through 7pm on Thursday, November 20th. Check out the dealfeed below for more info.
