You probably already do a big chunk of your holiday shopping on Amazon, but this year, you'll be able to shop inside Amazon—as in, at an actual Amazon store. According to The Verge, the "experimental" retail space is slated to open in time for the holiday rush, and will be located right in the thick of things, on 34th Streetbetween the Macy's flagship store and the Empire State Building.
The store will act as a sort of "mini-warehouse" where shoppers can pickup orders placed online (read: get stuff even faster) and return them if need be. It'll also be used as a shipping center where orders can go out for same-day delivery within New York City, as well as a (likely) platform to sell Kindle and Fire products. If anything, it's confirmation that the online-to-offline model has reached its highest peak yet.
