"You Make Really Good Soup"

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Artist Leah Harper is installing the nicest work of art you've ever seen—literally. "Complimentary," part of 14th Street's Art in Odd Places festival, will be located beneath the High Line—it looks like a gumball machine, but instead dispenses tiny written compliments. In July, Harper put out a call for compliments on Craigslist, and is now using about 100 of them, including "I like the way you move," "You're totally worth more than they're paying you," and "You make really good soup." Stop by for a pick-me-up from October 9th through the 12th. [DNAinfo]
