Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Haven't checked out BFX Studio yet? Here's your chance—we're hosting our next Racked Fit Club at the Chelsea gym (555 Sixth Avenue) on Wednesday, October 29th at 7pm. To get the most out of all that BFX offers, we'll be taking the Ride & Burn class—30 minutes of Spinning in the Ride Republic studio, followed by 30 minutes of high-intensity interval training in the Master Class studio—with Eli Ingram.
What else do you need to know? Students should plan to arrive 15 minutes early for bike setup. You'll need to bring sneakers for the second portion of class, and while the studio doesn't offer clip-in shoe rental, they can accommodate SPD and Mountain clips along with regular sneakers. Also bring along a water bottle to fill up at the refill stations. Plus, we'll have full access to the locker rooms with keypad locks (meaning you don't need to bring your own) and showers.
Want in on the action? We've got 28 spots to fill. Send an email here with the subject line "Racked Fit Club" and your name in the body of the email. We're accepting participants on a first-come, first-serve basis—and sorry, we can't accept reservations for friends; each person who wants to attend must send a separate email. Anyone who sends an email after the class is filled will be put on the wait list, and we'll notify you if space frees up.
