The Marissa Webb sample sale at 60-62 E. 11th St officially kicks off Friday at 11am, but we stopped by last night for an early preview. The sale is held in the designer's Greenwich Village showroom, so the stock isn't as extensive as your average 260SampleSale. That being said, you can expect to find a clean and uber-organized space, as well as many retail samples. Development samples are also available and they're marked with white circles on the tags.
Each item is individually priced, but we noticed that most tops were between $50—$100. There are some breezy tanks and tops for as low as $40 and sequin camis for $20. Highlights include silk tie blouses in neon pink and yellow for $100 and beaded-collared blouses for $50.
Dresses are not as plentiful compared to other articles of clothing, but expect to see some great (timeless) options for the upcoming holidays. We spotted Ande Crepe Drop Back Dresses—so cute!—in red and black for $125 and Sabrina Tiered Dresses for $200. For summer, there's a tieback sleeveless dress in lavender for $50 and the Adele Pintucked Dress in white for $50.
In jackets and outwear, do keep a lookout for a gorgeous olive green cargo jacket ($250) from spring 2014. Aside from that, highlights include Genevieve Blazers ($125) in green and white, and Tyler Trench Coats for $250. For more fall-appropriate options, check out the racks closer to the windows for wool jackets and coats for $250.
In bottoms, you'll see some great tweed-with-leather-inset action going on. Expect to find tweed and leather skirts for $150 and cream white cotton shorts with leather trim for $45. And then there's just leather—we saw color-blocked moto shorts for $250, black leather shorts for $75 and burgundy leather pants for $400. Besides these, there are also office-appropriate pants in gray and blue for $40. In the middle of the showroom, there's a table with pants available in a variety of colors and sizes (25-30). As for skirts, most of them were $50 and strong pieces include the Phillis Baroque Print and Pleated Skirt from Fall 2013 for $50.
There aren't a lot of shoes, but this section is definitely worth a browse. Most are one of three styles—Daphnie Lace Up-Heels, Margot Heels and Willa Pointy Toe Heels—and they're available in sizes 36-39. Prices range from $70—$100.
The fitting room is an adjacent space next to the samples and there's plenty of room to change comfortably. The sale runs through Saturday. Check the Dealfeed below for more information. —Gemma Kim
