Once the score is settled between Brookfield Place and the World Trade Center, department stores may turn their eyes uptown—way uptown. The Post reports that ever since Hudson Bay completed its deals in the Fidi, it's been looking to Harlem for Lord & Taylor's next move, and Macy's is also eying the neighborhood.
While Lord & Taylor's Harlem footprint will likely be an "off-priced concept store," Macy's is looking to put down solid roots—a story we've heard before. Last November, it was reported that the brand would be opening a giant outpost on 125th Street, but Macy's quickly debunked that rumor.
