Much like that girl from your high school who just moved to New York like, a month ago, pop star and recent Tribeca transplant Taylor Swift is now a total expert on the city, and has released a song from her forthcoming album entitled "Welcome to New York." Some people were pleased. Like, really pleased. Others were not. Our sister site Curbed NY explores the rainbow of reactions to the song, which has been called a "gentrification anthem" and "a campaign song for whoever loses the 2017 mayoral election." Somewhere, "Brooklyn Girls" songstress Catey Shaw is sighing with relief. [Curbed NY]
