Residents of the sought-after 345 West 14th Street will be well-prepared for winter with the duo of Columbia Sportswear and Sorel footwear opening at the ground level. While the former is a permanent shop that's scheduled to open on November 24th, Crain's New York reports, the latter is a pop-up that'll open on Thursday, October 30th and operate through February 2015.
This will be Sorel's first-ever retail location and will feature more than 100 styles from the fall and winter collection for men, women, and children—and it may not be so temporary.
"We'll see if we want to turn it into a permanent location—we certainly have aspirations to grow Sorel online and in brick-and-mortar locations in the future," Columbia's senior vice president of retail Shawn Cox told the business publication (the sportswear retailer owns Sorel).
The two activewear labels will be facing stiff competition in the area—just one block over are Lululemon, Patagonia, and Ugg Australia.
