In case you needed a reminder of how not to dress this Halloween—well, unless you don't mind running into fifteen other sexy Elsas or lady-Thors—here are New York City's most popular costumes, according to Halloween shop owners.
DNAinfo polled several of NYC's biggest costume retailers on their top sellers, and one outfit stood out as the clear winneramong new arrivals: Maleficent, which Ricky's NYC president Richard Parrot says is "just smoking hot." Thank Angelina Jolie (or those awesome horns).
According to Abracadabra manager Seneca Bell, "Kings and queens of all types" are in high demand, with characters from Game of Thrones, Once Upon a Time, and naturally, Frozen, being especially popular with kids. "We can't keep those Frozen costumes in the stores," adds Parrot. "It's just our biggest seller, period."
As for dudes, they've received the hint that Chris Pratt is every girl's imaginary boyfriend, as Star-Lord from Guardians of the Galaxy costumes are "extremely popular."
Most importantly, New York's dog population also has a preference when it comes to their Halloween attire: A viral short film called "Mutant Giant Spider Dog" is reportedly responsible for the popularity of terrifying tarantula costumes that turn once-adorable small dogs turn into giant furry spiders.
The most surprising tidbit from the totally not-at-all surprising report? Ladies still love the pink Power Ranger. "[They] have had staying power," Parrot says (pun intended?).
