When Rihanna wore that dress to the CFDA Awards earlier this year, you probably couldn't help but stare at her diamond earrings—because what else was there to look at, right? Well, the designer of those stunners, Paul Morelli, is opening his first freestanding boutique at 895 Madison Avenue this week, according to WWD.
The 2,000-square foot shop will exclusively house the "La Grange" collection, which is comprised of pieces made of 18-karat gold and palladium-white gold. The address will also serve as the designer's New York showroom.
Morelli, whose designs are currently only available in New York at Bergdorf Goodman, took his time searching for the perfect space, starting his search downtown at first. "We know who we are, and have known who we are for a long time," he told the paper. "We felt like it was a good time to open, after years and years of being what some people perceived as a best-kept secret. We wanted to step out and make a little dance step in the spotlight."
But that little dance step doesn't come with a little price tag—WWD notes that a Paul Morelli piece starts at $2,000 and goes all the way past $20,000.
