We checked out the Rent the Runway sample sale this afternoon to see what's still left from opening day, and although five racks have been cleared out, there's still a ton of dresses to sort through. Though many of the dresses have some sort of damage, you might find a diamond in the rough if you take a little time to search.
Two size 0 racks, one size 6 rack, and two size 8 racks have been cleared out. Overall, we saw a ton of those black Milly feather frocks and Herve Leger bandage dresses in a variety of styles. As far as gowns go, designers found on the racks today include BCBG, Reem Acra, Halston, and Yigal Azrouel.
As for those undamaged gems, there's a $143 Versace Collection that looked like it was never worn. There was also a $147 Christian Siriano dress that only had a few pulls in the silk, but those could be easily concealed with proper stitching.
Over by accessories, we saw lots of jewelry and a small collection of worn bags. A Kate Spade clutch looked pretty good for $33 as well as a Moschino clutch for $72 that needed a bit of tweaking at the bag repair.
There has not been—nor will there be—any restocking, and prices have not yet been reduced. The sale runs through Sunday—see the Dealfeed below for timing information.
