While high fashion may be throwing shade at Brooklyn, home grown efforts are lamenting their forced move into Manhattan. The Real Deal is reporting that Manufacture New York—the "fashion incubator" hosting Launch NYC—has finally settled on an office in the Garment District after they "conducted an exhaustive search for a budget-friendly spot in Brooklyn."

"We are committed to Brooklyn, but it's quite expensive," founder Bob Bland said about the search process. "We're not saying prices are out of control in Brooklyn, but maybe they are."

But the Garment District locale is only a holdover until their real headquarters are ready—in Sunset Park. It'll be a one-stop shop for local designers, including a factory, a showroom, and several studios.
