The Tome, Chadwick Bell and Nomia joint sample sale kicked off this morning and we stopped by just before the doors opened for a little preview. We were pleased to see actual Tome samples for $99 and a great deal of fall 2013 merchandise marked down to 80% off.

Set in their showroom, the racks were divided by designer with no shortage of variety in styles, from gowns to wool capes. The Nomia and Tome merchandise was priced as marked, while the Chadwick Bell pieces were tagged with color coded stickers, so be sure to pay close attention as you shop.

The rack of Tome samples were $99 and included utilitarian shirts, a single khaki v-neck shift dress, oversized ribbon tees and a group of ponte tank dresses. The other two racks of Tome merchandise was from fall 2013 and marked around 65% off. One full rack of color block styles brightened up the sale, with dresses for $130 and button down shirts for $150. A few standout pieces included a white silk camisole gown with ladder lace detail for $495, and a structured grey wool cape for $595. Cross-back dresses came in black and plum for $295, while simple black flare skirts were $150.

Chadwick Bell pieces ranged from $50 to $1,000, and offered the most merchandise of all the brands. While we didn't see any of the red stickers indicating $50 styles, they weren't finished pricing things before we left the sale. We were pleased to see some beautifully embellished cocktail dresses for $250 and couture-like gowns for $500. While this sounds like a splurge purchase at a sample sale, the floor length ombré tiered dress made us wish we had an event to attend to justify the purchase.

A small section of fall 2013 Chadwick Bell styles were individually priced and included a full length camel coat and a grey boiled wool coat, both marked 75% off. Past season styles included tailored dresses in menswear fabrics, long blazers, fitted vests, leather jackets and an amazing blush pink slit-front wrap skirt. We also spotted a white kimono dress made of structured silk and silk blouses with shear tulle backs. Sitting under the racks were a few pairs of sandals and suede boots from various brands in sizes 38 and 39.

Nomia had one small rack stocked primarily with dresses. A single silver maxi-dress with cutouts at the waist was $310, while the red column dress was only $180. Scattered among the dresses we found pieces from the fall 2013 collection including a metallic jacquard bomber jacket for $290, a relaxed track pant with tulle below the knees for $170 and a minimal, white button-down shirt with oversized patch pockets for $190.

With one full length mirror situated near the front door, it is sure to get crowded. The sale runs this evening until 7pm and Saturday from 10am to 7pm.
