Celebrate LGBTQ Through Art; Into The Gloss at the Jane Hotel

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

SOHO—Check out the latest exhibit at the Leslie-Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art, entitled Queer Threads: Crafting Identity and Community. It explores the works of LGBTQ artists working with thread-based materials and techniques—think knit sculptures, felt paintings, crochets, and more. The exhibit opens to the public this Friday with a special event from 6pm to 8pm [RackedWire]

MEATPACKING DISTRICT—Into The Gloss founder Emily Weiss wants you to start off the year properly—that is, by drinking and shopping. Join her and the rest of the beauty blog team for cocktails and the opportunity to purchase more than 2,000 discounted goods. Even better? All proceeds benefit Team for Kids. It's all going down at the Jane Hotel tomorrow night starting at 7pm; RSVP here. [RackedWire]
