Now that Mavi no longer has a storefront in Greenwich Village, the denim brand has taken to Brooklyn for its new New York City flagship. The first store opened this past weekend at 205 Fifth Avenue in Park Slope, and there's another opening planned for mid-September at 90 Smith Street in Brooklyn Heights.
The new spot includes the brand's "denim kitchen," a concept currently featured at the stores in its native Turkey. According to the press release, "The 'Denim Kitchen' reflects an actual chef's kitchen but instead of pots, pans, forks and knives that a chef would use to create an immaculate dish, Mavi's tools to create the perfect 'meal' are buttons, rivets, fabric and wash treatments." A photo of the very literal metaphor is after the jump.
