Patagonia's Bowery surf shop is finally open after a year of Sandy-related setbacks. We stopped by the store's in its first hour of business to find rows of surfboards and a pack of excited, surf-expert staff at the ready.
The front of the store is dedicated to men's, with a fair amount of non-surf gear including plenty of autumn-appropriate jackets and flannels. The center of the shop is lined with surfboards arranged by height, and racks hanging with wetsuits. There is an assortment of lifestyle goods, including a waterproof notepad and wooden boards for hand planing (that's surfing with your hand) made in Bushwick. The back room is dedicated to womenswear, with a selection that ranges from forward-thinking swimwear to those infamous fleece jackets. After the jump, a look inside.
