Alexander McQueen's new Madison Avenue flagship officially opens today, after a soft opening this weekend. The boutique houses the men's and women's clothing lines, footwear, bags, small accessories, and the brand's signature skull scarves, all under one decadent roof. Perhaps the most elaborate design aspect are the plaster panel handcarved mouldings, which, if you look carefully, depict the shape of the armadillo shoe.

The debut marks a turning point in McQueen's retail New York City retail history: the Meatpacking store, which resided on West 14th Street for over a decade, closed up shop a few days ago. Tour the new space after the jump.
