Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
ONLINE—Knitwear designer (and Racked Young Guns Semi-Finalist!) Lindsay Degen has launched a Kickstarter in hopes of bolstering a new baby line. Aptly called babyDegen, the pint-sized product mimics the funky colors and patterns present in her adult-sized works. The additional funding will go towards improving customer service, packaging, and the online shopping experience. [Kickstarter]
MIDTOWN WEST—Join sustainable apparel brand Loomstate and recycled craft non-profit Skraptacular this Sunday for a DIY kids crafternoon (crafting afternoon, get with it). Participants aged 8 to 18 will use old t-shirts to create totes and accessories from 3pm to 5:30pm, followed by a screening of Bag It from 6pm to 8pm. Both events are free, but make sure you RSVP.
