As expected, this year's Hermès sample sale isn't good. That didn't come as a surprise, though, considering that the previous sample sale wasn't good either. However, Madison Avenue Spy reports that the reason for this year's letdown could be a major sale in Beverly Hills.

She writes: "Hermès insiders, who insisted upon anonymity, say that Hermès recently consolidated all of their overstock and past season merchandise in anticipation of reopening their Beverly Hills boutique after a lengthy renovation."

Wondering what you missed out on by living on the East Coast? Racked LA covered the sale, and reports that there were silk scarves, ties, jewelry, small leather goods, handbags—all of the things missing from Soiffer Haskin's version.
