Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

The retail space at the Paramount Hotel is in transition mode. Originally, the hotel enlisted the folks behind Montauk's Surf Lodge to create Free & the Brave, a finger-on-the-pulse mix of American brands like Suno, Filson, and Penguin Books. That chapter has closed and the space, which retains the same name, will now host a series of pop-up shops.

First up is a temporary shop benefiting the Global Citizen Festival, backed by the Global Poverty Project and the Cotton On Foundation. Inside, shoppers have a chance to win tickets to the concert, which are no longer for sale. The store is currently stocking Cotton On's latest line, limited edition Global Citizen tees designed by celebrities, and other memorabilia. All of the proceeds will go to charity.
