What made you want to become a yoga instructor?
My mom has been a yoga teacher for the past thirty years, so the idea of teaching yoga and leading the yogic lifestyle has been ingrained in me since childhood. I am also a practicing art therapist. I initially got certified as a yoga instructor with the purpose of integrating yogic elements into my art therapy practice. I sort of fell into teaching yoga prematurely and surprised myself at how much I loved it and how natural it felt. I am thankful everyday that I am able to make this my career!
How long have you been an instructor?
I've been teaching yoga for about a year and a half now, but I've been practicing since I was five years old.
What's one piece of advice everyone should hear before beginning a new workout?
Listen to your body! Be mindful of what it is telling you and don't judge it. And most importantly, be openminded and have fun with it. Yoga shouldn't be as serious as some make it out to be.
