Vivienne Westwood didn't want to just lease a space to open a new New York City store, opting instead to buy a $13.5 million five-story townhouse. In addition to acting as a retail space, the location will also house a showroom and serve as her corporate headquarters.
A source told The Post: "They have a beautiful freestanding store on the West Coast but also wanted to be in New York. But they only wanted to own, not to lease." The townhouse clocks in at 12,000 square feet, and is located next to the St. Regis Hotel between Madison and Fifth Avenues.
