Welcome to our search for New York City's hottest trainer. Over the coming weeks, we'll profile twenty-two smoking candidates who work at local gyms and studios. Once you've gotten to know everyone, we'll host a March Madness-style showdown in which you get to vote for your favorite.

When we opened up our contest to reader submissions, emails literally poured in for Patrick Frost, and now we see why. He's been a trainer for three years, and currently works as an instructor at Barry's Bootcamp. As you can see from the photos above, he's pretty easy on the eyes—not to mention totally ripped, something that just so happens to run in his family.
What prompted you to become a fitness instructor?
I feel like I've been trained to be a trainer for a while now. I didn't know it though. My cousin was a professional body builder and he started training me at 12, and I've always played sports. Fitness was always a hobby, but when Barry's Bootcamp came along, it all sort of happened serendipitously. Couldn't have asked for a better family!
What classes do you teach, and which is your favorite?
I'm only at Barry's and love teaching every class. My favorite class though would probably be Butt and Legs—everybody loves a good ass!
Describe your training style: Are you drill sergeant? More laid back?
I'm very serious about form and effort. I strive for 110% on the daily and I expect that from you for at least an hour. That being said, I'm a big goofball. I love camaraderie in my class and try to connect those in my class to not only me but each other. High-fives and all!
Tell us a fun fact about you
I'm a military brat—it probably explains a lot :)
