Inside the H&M Paris Collection's Meatpacking Pop-Up

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Yesterday was the launch of H&M's brief Meatpacking District pop-up shop, which is currently "selling" the brand's Paris Show Collection. (And by selling, we mean that all of the merchandise is available to order through H&M's ecommerce with a code for free shipping.) A large white tent is currently set up in Gansevoort Plaza, and it's jam-packed with fall clothes.

The set-up of the pop-up had to be shifted around a bit yesterday because of the weather, but customers were still able to navigate through the racks. The line includes men's and women's clothing, as well as shoes and accessories, and a lot of the pieces are pretty embellished—think beading, long fringe, flashy sequins, and all that jazz. You'll also find easier fall items, like structured coats, thick sweaters, and knee-high boots.

The collection hits stores September 5th, but stop by the pop-up if you want to scope it out sooner. According to the brand's Facebook event page, it'll be open through 8pm tomorrow.—Christina Dun
