The NYT recently visited Betty Halbreich, famed Bergdorf Goodman personal shopper, at her decadent Upper East Side apartment. One of the best quotes from the legendary 85-year-old employee: "I never wanted to live on Park Avenue. It's a great place to raise children, but it's very dark. If I could, I would live downtown."
