Minneapolis-based Target is setting up offices for its creative and marketing staff "in the most creative neighborhood in the city"—which is apparently West 25th Street between 10th and 11th Avenues. Why does this matter? Because right next to their new offices they've leased a 5,000-square-foot ground floor retail space. Yes, Target will finally have some on-the-ground retail presence in semi-central Manhattan. Cue Etta James: at last.
The space is situated at 511 West 25th Street and it won't be a full-fledged Target store, but rather an "area for events and as a special exhibition space for new products." Located just north of the Meatpacking District and just south of the soon-to-be-booming Hudson Yards, it's a smart choice for conceptual retail.
