Last week, we learned that Sandro and Maje's little sister brand, Claudie Pierlot, was making its first landfall stateside at Bloomingdale's. Today, we went to the department store's Soho site to check out the goods, and were surprised to find that much of it is already discounted. And compared to the more established brands, Claudie Pierlot already has a lower price point.
In the foreground of the shop-in-shop are four racks of reduced-price merchandise from the spring/summer collection. Most of the tags we peeked at showed discounts of up to 50% on items like silky blazers, pants, and breezy tops. The bright colors of this collection are in stark contrast to the fall line it, made up of black and white basics with accents of royal blue.
And though we're not even halfway through summer, many of the fall pieces have already dropped in price. We saw a black-and-white sleeveless top for $160, marked down from $200, and a royal blue sweater for $142.50, previously $285. We also spotted a few pairs of shoes and black-and-white handbags in this collection, also already discounted
We're assuming this is the company's overall strategy to move pieces off the shelves during this weird in-between season for retailers. When we wandered over to the Maje and Sandro displays right next to Claudie Pierlot, a lot of their items were also on sale, from spring and fall— Gurfein.
