If you live across the street from the Barneys flagship, you might gaze out of your Madison Avenue window seething with jealousy that you can't just live in the luxury department store. Extell Development has preempted your dilemma/rich person rage by partnering with the retailer on The Carlton House, a luxury building with that exact proximity.
Units at the House, which range from $3.15 million one-bedrooms to a $65 million five-story townhouse, have been finished with the Barneys touch. That means you'll find the store's wooden hangers in the closet, Malin+Goetz skincare products in the bathroom, and you can order delivery from Fred's. Also included are a variety of services that mean Barneys employees will walk across the street to your house, including in-home custom suit services and shopping bag delivery. As of March, 45% of the building was spoken for.
