Rebecca Minkoff's in-store sample sale kicked off this morning with a refreshingly nominal line. Inside, we found an impressive, summery selection of ready-to-wear, shoes, handbags and small leather goods. Compared to the brand's recent 260 Sample Sale event, the merchandise felt more recent and it was far less hectic. Set inside of her pop-up-soon-to-be-flagship, the sale is well-organized, nicely merchandised, and more like shopping her future boutique—but at sale prices.

Regarding the bags: there are many, and everything is under $250. Seasonal colors and prints—like metallic silver, hot pink, and leopard—made up the bulk of the offerings, but some neutral bags in grey and black were available. M.A.C.s and M.A.B.s are in no short supply, ranging in size from mini to mega.

While there were plenty of bags to choose from, there might be even more clothing. Apparel prices started at $40 for tees, and capped at $300 for leather jackets and leather dresses. Skirts, shorts, and blouses are $75, dresses cost $150, and blazers, jackets, and jumpsuits go for $200. Stock was available in a range of sizes.

Flats and sandals cost $75, with about twenty styles to choose from, including a few colorblocked options. Heels—located in the back of the store—are $125, with styles ranging from casual espadrille wedges to silvery evening styles. Boots and booties cost $150, but we didn't see many of these styles.

A selection of accessories near the back of the shop offers some of the cheapest thrills at the sale. Sunglasses pouches—in lime and peach with a cute illustration—are at the low end of the accessories offerings for $40. Leather pouches cost $50 to $75, a skinny M.A.C. goes for $75, and for $100—$125 you can snag a wallet.
