We stopped by the friends and family portion of the Eugenia Kim sample sale last night, and if you're a fan of the brand or just a fan of headwear in general, you'll have some fun at this sale. Here are a few of the highlights: There are hats for girls and guys, and a bin of free stuff. Eugenia Kim herself will be popping onto the sales floor throughout the sale to meet the customers and answer any of your styling questions.
Everything here is price as marked and there's something for every budget. If you're saving up for your AC bill, you should start with the bins on the ground. There are great finds starting at $10 and going up to $45. Oh, and that free bin we mentioned? There is a bin clearly marked full of goodies that you don't have to pay for, which we expect to get pillaged fast. If money is no object, you can pay up to $225 for current season goods and one of a kinds.
Ladies, most of the hats are a medium. However, if the one you want isn't fitting just right, the employees can get the hat re-sized for you while you wait (about five minutes). The sale is loaded with different styles for every type of girl. We saw a navy lacquer fedora for $45, a two tone sun hat with feather detail for $95, and a super cool coral straw fedora with beaded snake detail for $95.
If you're looking for a lower price point check out the Genie by Eugenia Kim line. We spotted a sun hat with gold chain detail for $20 and a straw fedora with a leopard band for $35. Besides all the hats, there are feather headbands for $15, head wraps for $55, and some fall and winter accessories for $45-$85.
The men's area is stocked full of those cool Mr. Kim hats in sizes medium through extra large. The options range from straw to wool and from casual to super stylized. We spotted camo driving caps for $55, a super amazing vintage seagrass fedora with a southwestern band for $85 and a two tone straw trilby with a leather band for $95. Also, in here you can find the Mr. Kim and Michael Bastian collaboration caps with the colorful see through visors for only $45.
All sales are final. There are mirrors available and the staff is super friendly and helpful. The inventory will be restocked each day throughout the sale, including that free bin.—Mickey Sery
