Does Williamsburg have the most indoor cycling studios per square mile? When Torque opens Monday, the notoriously hipster 'hood may very well claim that title. The new studio, on North 8th Street, will offer outdoor yoga and pilates classes in addition to stationary bike sessions. Your first class is free—after that, mat classes go for $20 and cycling classes for $24.
Unlike most of the city's fitness studios, class price includes cycling shoe rental, mats, towels, filtered water, and lockers. Torque is owned by a pair of brothers (aw), who said they "want people to have a positive and energizing experience... that means not feeling nickled and dimed for things that really don't cost us that much." On top of that, they'll be donating 2% of revenues to charitable partners.
