Kirna Zaête is on track for their move. Earlier this year, the Soho veterans announced that they would be leaving their current store at 96 Greene Street—which Rebecca Minkoff is scooping up—and moving south to 477 Broome Street.
The Times got a peek at the new space, which is double the size and opens this month. Store decor includes neon lights with quotes like, "The best things in life are free, the second best are very expensive," a display with the phonetic rendering of the store's name, fuchsia-painted columns, and accessories displayed on hands reaching from the walls. Previously, co-owner Sarah Easley explained: "The design will reflect the 41-year-old ladies we've become."
In order to compete with luxury powerhouses like Net-a-Porter, KZ is tapping into what they started with: discovering designers before they blow up. They'll add 27 designers to their offerings, including bags from Yazbukey, the Brazilian label Serpui Marie, and blogger Bryanboy's fur accessories collab with Adrienne Landau. Earlier this year we heard that Christian Dior and Nina Ricci would also be added to the mix, and that the opening of the store would feature exclusives by Balenciaga, Lanvin, and Stella McCartney.
