Species by The Thousands Expands With a Brooklyn Solo Store

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Species by the Thousands is getting its first standalone store in Williamsburg, in the former location of A Thousand Picnics, the store the brand shared with Phoebe Sung and Peter Buer of Cold Picnic. Designer Erica Bradbury and Species partner Michele Colomer have transformed the space into a one-stop shop for the brand, with merchandise that includes jewelry, Bearded Man pillows, and artisan items from around the world.

Those include everything from OLO perfume oil to handmade soapstone, lapis, and antler pipes from outside vendors. On top of the new space, Species by the Thousands also just launched its new website and webstore with a full line of products. As for Cold Picnic, they're still working on the line and are expanding the collections to include more home goods.
