A few of our tipsters let us know that 260 Sample Sale sent around an email last night, saying that the DVF sample sale has been extended through Sunday with additional markdowns. A tipster told us that gowns, cocktail dresses, leathers, and furs are now $150. Wraps and regular dresses are $100, and a lot of the ready-to-wear categories are $60. Samples are still $50.
What's been pretty interesting about this sale in particular is the disparity between the reviews—our own commenters seem to be divided, with some writing that this season's sale has been the best yet, while others write that it was downright terrible. After the jump, a few of the most recent comments, which include updates on the stock.
From noon yesterday: "The restocking is not meaningful for size 0 or 2. Most of the pieces are from several seasons ago. Sample racks are pretty picked over when I left at 11. No line to get in between 10 and 11."
From 3pm yesterday: "The selection is mostly undesirables. The dress selection is minimal. Don't expect to leave with an armful of wrap dresses. They are almost non-existent. Merchandise is overpriced. I've been to about a dozen DVF sample sales over the years. This one truly disappointed."
From 5pm yesterday: "There were lots of new styles today (Thursday) vs. Wednesday, lots of variety, lots of sizes. I found three awesome new dresses that weren't there the day before (size 2). Definitely worth another shot. And thank you to the lovely staff member in the dressing room who told me I should try a size 0 instead of the 2 in a particular dress—she was totally right. One of the better sales in recent years."
